August Favourites



L'Oréal Super Liner (Perfect Slim)
After hearing great reviews about this eyeliner and my beloved Soap and Glory one coming to an end, I decided to try  this out and I am so pleased I did. It has a very fine nib so you can do the most delicate flick but you can also build up to a thicker line. The great thing about this eyeliner is its ability to stay in place and not smudge and it will definitely last you all day! It is a little harder to control than my old one but you soon get used to it :-)

Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Addiction
It's a surprise that I have not mentioned this lip liner sooner as I have been wearing it pretty much every day for the last two months. It is the perfect 'your lip colour but better' shade a nice muted pink which I think is great for transitioning from summer to the winter months! You do have to re-apply it throughout the day as it is very creamy so easily slides off but it has amazing pigmentation - definitely my favourite of the favourites! 

Miniature Daisy by Marc Jacobs
A few months ago I received a little set set of miniature Marc Jacob Daisy perfumes as a present and they have been so handy recently. I like to pop one in my handbag if I am out for a long day as they take up a tiny amount of room in your bag and are perfect to freshen up with. 

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
This foundation does everything I would like in a foundation - it has a nice natural coverage, gives me a nice glow and sticks around well throughout the day. Definitely my new 'holy grail!'

Benefit Sun Beam Highlighter
If you can't already tell I have been obsessed with looking glowy in August and this little product has helped immensely. I usually apply it underneath my foundation down the bridge of my nose, along the top of my cheekbones and on my cupids bow. Sometimes if I want to be extra 'glowy' I will repeat this step after I have applied my blush! If you have more olive skin tone like me I would say that this is perfect as it is a golden colour as oppose to a pinky highlighter.

Top Three Lush Products


This has got to be my all time favourite and most re-purchased product from Lush. It smells like fresh blueberries and feels very soothing when applying it to the skin. It turns to a matte, crumbly texture once it has been left on for ten to fifteen minutes and at this point you remove it with a warm damp muslin cloth. I have to say that it is an extremely satisfying product to remove as you can see all the make-up that has been left behind being drawn out, leaving your face feeling truly soft and clean. 


I only received this product a few weeks ago for my birthday but I can already tell that it is a must-have. In the shower it lathers up in your hands very well, and leaves your hair feeling very soft, clean and shiny. And it smells like rose-jam, so what's not to love?  


Heaven in a bottle is the best way to describe this lotion. It is very soothing to apply, especially when you have just shaved your legs, and sinks into the skin nicely. I would like to quickly mention that patience is key with this product, as your legs will feel a bit sticky for around five minutes but it is most definitely worth it. Once the product is fully absorbed you are left with extremely soft and hydrated skin. To top it all off you also smell of fresh vanilla with a hint of kiwi.

An Escape To The Country


Okay well maybe 'escape' is a little over the top, but I have been away to a little cottage in a quaint town in the country this past week. We were totally secluded in a field full of lambs and had a breath-taking view of the sea. The other thing I was secluded from was the Internet (hence my lack of a blog post these last two weeks - sorry!) and all forms of social media. As somebody who has grown up in the digital age, it was much to my dismay at first - how was I to hear about the latest fashion and beauty launches, celebrity news or catch up on my YouTube videos? However, on my second day I soon realised that my disconnect from the internet was indeed a good thing. I was happily reading a magazine without the distraction of Twitter and snapping photos of the scenery without the need to edit them and upload them to Instagram. 


Over the week we explored nearby towns and walked for miles along the coast. My favourite place we visited was a little seaside town that was full of yummy sweets, fish and chips and quirky stores. 

All in all, it was a very peaceful and relaxing holiday. I would highly recommend for people to go and explore and re-connect with the real world.

Birthday Gifts


As it was my birthday a couple of days ago, I thought I would share with you some of the gifts that I received. I personally love watching these kinds of videos on YouTube and find them a great source of inspiration for gifts for friends :-)
I absolutely adore the colour and design of this photo frame, which will be perfect for my new university room. My boyfriend put his card in the frame (it is a very cool card) so I will either leave it in there or I am considering switching it out for a printed quote. 

For a long time I have wanted a case to protect my laptop but have never really found one that appealed to me. So when I stumbled upon this beauty, I knew I needed to add it to my wish list and was so thrilled when I received it. 

Because who doesn't love chocolate?

Lush are one of my all-time favourite skincare brands and this body lotion does everything you could wish for. Plus it smells of vanilla with a hint of kiwi - what's not to love?

This scent is the newest to the Body Shops range and for summer I would say they have ticked the boxes with fresh lime and mint. I love using body butter's for when my skin is feeling very dry, as they are extremely moisturising.

I have never tried a shampoo bar from Lush or any other brand before so I am excited to see how I get on with this one - hopefully my hair will smell as good as it does in the packet!

I tried this for the first time last night and I woke up with super soft and refreshed skin, making me one very happy lady.

As some of you may know I study fashion design at university so this gift was very thoughtful. It will be great for taking down notes in lectures or using it to scribble down design ideas :-) 

I cannot wait to decorate my new room at university with these, they will go perfectly with my photo frame and make my room look super cosy.

This will also go into my new room. As I do not have a pin board, I thought that this would be a great way to display my favourite polaroid pictures. The kit comes complete with a rope, mini pegs and two push pins.

David Nicholls book One Day is one of my all time favourites, so I am super eager to read this one and it will be perfect for me to take away on holiday :-)

Ever since I bought my first lip liner a month or so ago I have been obsessed. I never realised how much difference they made to defining your lips and keeping your lipstick on for longer! This beautiful shade is a dark pink/red and goes perfectly with the Amazing Grace Lipstick. 

For a few years I have religiously worn Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume  and to be honest been stuck in a bit of a rut with it. When my best friend bought me this I didn't know what to expect at first because I thought what exactly did 'Black Amber' smell like? However, once I opened the classic black bottle and spritzed some perfume out I was in heaven, it is a clean refreshing scent and I would urge you to go out and smell it yourself :-)

I have been eyeing up this lipstick for a few months now and it is just as beautiful in person as it is online, and as for the packaging it is rose gold so what more needs to be said? I wore it out to my birthday meal and was very impressed with the pigmentation and staying power, considering I had devoured a steak and dessert!

Top Tip: Check through the person you are buying for's social media accounts such as Instagram or Tumblr to get some inspiration of things that they like (my best friend said she did this for me!)
