I have decided to do something a little bit different today and review a product that I have been trying out for the past week. It is a Tropical Hair Treatment by Lani - an oil which you apply to your hair around 30 minutes before you wash it. It states that it will 'add shine and lustre, softens and rehydrates hair, protects against split ends and breakage and makes hair easier to style and straighten' to name a few. A bottle comes priced at £10.99.
The product comes in a small screw top bottle, and the oil is of a clear, thick consistency. It has a subtle coconut scent to it, but it is not too potent whilst waiting to get in the shower. I did find application difficult because I had to pour the oil onto my fingers (which resulted in some of the product dropping onto the floor) but I did manage to quickly massage it into my hair. Investing in a small pipette to suck up the product and disperse it onto the hair could be a solution to this problem.
Once I had applied the oil all over my hair it felt slightly damp and my hair had a very wet and oily look to it. However, about 15 minutes into the oil sitting in my hair I could feel that the product had absorbed in and my hair felt more dry.
After thirty minutes was up I washed my hair twice with shampoo and once with conditioner as instructed. I used the OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. I then towel dried my hair slightly and left it to dry naturally.
When my hair was finally dry it felt very soft, shiny and silky and I was very impressed with the results! Overall I would give the product a 8/10 simply because I found the application difficult.
Lani have just launched their Tropical Body Treatment and I cannot wait to try it in the near future - I have high hopes for it :-)
